As in any human family, at least the way it used to be, young children are expected to behave according to their parents ground rules; the hope being that if they learn the right ways of relating to people, and that they will continue to follow those ways as they grow up and mature. In the same way, our God has laid down ground rules of behaviour for his children, for our good. We too need to learn and follow these, if we’re ever to achieve full maturity, spiritually.
