I apologise to those who support this outreach, both financially and in prayer,
for failing to get the usual type of report completed for October, and now
November also. It’s been on my heart to not continue to forward extracts from
emails as I’ve done in the past, because with the way the work is now
progressing, much of the mail we receive is too personal to publish.
Instead we will attempt to give an outline of what the Master is doing through his servants
in the many places where we are involved, realising that his work continues in
many other areas also. So here goes:
The hunger and need for literature has continued to expand as we endeavour, by our
God’s good grace, to reach into new areas and new countries. We are currently
involved with indigenous evangelists and pastors along the entire East Coast of
Africa, plus much of Central and West Africa, and expanding areas of India.
These places seem to be predominantly Muslim, but there are also many Hindus,
Satan worshipers and worshipers of all kinds of idols and natural gods among
them. The grace of our God is touching many hearts, causing them to turn from
darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, using his servants to
continue the work which he caused the apostle Paul to start, as we read in Acts 26:16-18.
One of the new areas we are involved in is North East Africa. This work started for
us about six months ago in Somalia when an evangelist named Joseph Mujahidin contacted
us, asking for literature. He has a team of up to 1,000 workers who labour with
him in this task which the Master gave him during a time of imprisonment for
his faith in Christ Jesus some years ago. On completion of the outreach in
Somalia, he has now nearly completed two months in Ethiopia. On finishing there
he will be going into Sudan for another two months. We are so very blessed and
privileged to assist with literature.
Another new area for us is Zambia, through Pastor Enock Katongo. Over the years we have
been involved in many of the countries surrounding this nation, but this is possible
the first there. The success of this contact was once again made possible only
through our dear brothers and representatives in Tanzania, Pastors Phillip and
Kissa Mahali, just as has so often happened before in much of East and Central
Africa. We are so blessed and privileged to work with this beautiful Christian
couple.
In India, through our dear brother Pastor Ephraim Penumala and the entire Penumala
family, the work of outreach continues across an area with a population of over
80,000,000. There are well over 200 pastors involved in this work which is reaching
into remote villages there. They also hold monthly meetings in TB and leprosy
hospitals, with many patients and staff accepting Jesus Christ as their Saviour
and Lord. Also, each month the ladies in the different areas hold meetings
which have resulted in many Muslim and Hindu families coming to know the Lord Jesus
as their Saviour also.
The work in West Africa is struggling because of lack of funds, but we wait on our
Master/Provider. After all, this is his work, not ours.
