"Enter by the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the way is easy which leads to destruction, and there are many who find it. But the gate is narrow, and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few."

Now that we are about to start a new year, Terri and I find ourselves looking back in order to take stock of where we are heading. We look back to the day, so many years ago now, when we first started on this way which leads to life, and we are very grateful to our God that he led us through the narrow gate and got us started on the only right way, the narrow way, and though this happened at seperate times for each of us, yet we walk on together as one.

While that narrow way has been hard much of the time, causing us to travel through some very tough times both in the physical as well as in the emotional and spiritual areas of our lives, yet, because we went through those times together, we both can say that, in looking back, our wonderful God has clearly never deserted us or left us alone to cope, though at times it seemed he had.

Those hard times like those fcaed by Job in Job 23:8-10, when we had searched everywhere but could not seem to find him. Yet, as we look back now, we can clearly see that he knew the way we took, and after he had put us through those very necessary fiery trials to cleanse out the dross (Isiah 48:10), we came out more confident than ever of his unfailing faithfulness.
