“If we walk in the light as God is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

There is an old Hymn which contains the beautiful words, “If we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way; while we do his good will, he abides with us still, never fear only trust and obey.”

Sadly today we live in a world where trust has been eroded to such an extent that many of us find it difficult to practice this beautiful virtue for danger of being cheated, defrauded, attacked or misled. This lack of trusting seems to have had a profound effect on our ability, or willingness, to totally trust our God for and in everything. Instead we have, along with the world, begun to trust more in our own understanding, our abilities, and our views of right and wrong, rather than in the simple, beautiful truth of our Father’s word; both as shown in the bible and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

How very sad this is as it causes us to miss out on so very much in our relationship with our wonderful God, and his Christ.
