“Be zealous to be found by him without spot or blemish and at peace.”

I wonder just how many of us as God’s children are ever really at peace within our souls, especially when it come to being “without spot or blemish” before our God!! How many of us fully avail ourselves of the wonderful cleansing agents which our Father has provided for us? Those cleansing tools being the blood of his Son, Jesus (1John 1:7), and the word of God, as recorded in the scriptures! (John 15:3) How many of us talk as if these agents of the Master were ineffective in our lives?

Do we really take to heart the word recorded for us in 1Pet 1:15 “As he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct.” Do we try to explain away passages of scripture such as Jesus words in Matt 5:48 “You must be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect”?

Do we accept and expect to live the truth of 1John 3:6-9 which tells us, “No one who abides in Christ continues to sin. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him. Let no one deceive you, he who does right is righteous as he his righteous. He who continues to sin is of the devil; for the devil sinned from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God continues to sin because God’s nature abides in him and he cannot continue to sin because he is born of God.”

Finally, do we accept and expect to be able to obey Rom 8:12 “Do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies, causing you to obey its passions”, choosing to act on the truth of Rom 8:14, which tells us, “Sin will no longer have dominion over you since you are not under law but under grace.”
