Verse of the week - Isaiah 30:15

"In returning and rest you will be saved. In quietness and trust will be your strength." Isaiah 32:17 "The effect of righteousness will be peace, and its result, quietness and trust forever."

In todays world, especially in the so called 'developed world', everything seems to be working very hard to make it impossible for us to find any quietness. It appears that very may people find it necessary to have some kind of device constantly filling their ears with sounds of one kind or another, And often, this is at maximum volume. At the same time we are being bombarded with the idea that we can only trust ourselves and our own judgment.

How very sad!! However, I am sure that, like me, every true believer in God's wonderful Word finds that, even while under the preasures of everyday work, if we will, for just a little while, draw aside and in our hearts sing a song of praise to him, he fills our hearts with his peace, quietness and trust. Even in our very busy and noisy shopping centres, if we sit and let the cleansing waters of his Word run through our minds, we can be completely quiet and peacefull in our souls, trusting in his unfailing faithfulness to his promises.
