"Stand by  the roads, {crossroads?} look and ask for the ancient path {Jesus Christ, the Word of God} where the good way is, and walk in it {obedience?}, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, "We will not walk in it."

I sometimes wonder just how many of us stand, with our minds quietly still, looking intently into God's Word, because we want to know all that he is saying to us in Christ Jesus, asking with a listening ear, because we believe and know that our God and Father will give us the answer we need, because he said he would. And that he will do this WHEN HE IS READY TO DO SO, IF WE ARE LISTENING AT THE TIME HE CHOOSES, and not just when it is convenient for us. Do we truly believe and know by experience with him, that he will not only give us HIS answer, but will also give us all the abilities we need to walk in his ways, in total obedience? If we will do these simple things, then we will know true rest and peace in the very depths of our souls.

I pray that none of us will be like his rebellious people of that time, and end up saying to our God, by our actions, "We will not walk in your ways!"
