When I was reborn into God’s family in 1970, many of the groups of Christians I was involved with seemed to concentrate all their attention on what we get out of being a Christian. And while this is so vital for the newborn, just as milk is so vital to a little baby, yet we never seemed to progress onto the next stage; that of semi solids, leading in turn to solids. In other words we rarely progressed to the stage of coming face to face with just what our God expected to get out of this relationship with us; “The riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.” Eph.1:16-18 I mean, what kind of a relationship would we have with people if all we talked about was what we expected to receive, and rarely, if ever, about what we can give?
